Pretty and Precise: A Look Into Uneek Jewelry’s Wax Process

Jewelry casting is a tradition that has been around for hundreds of years, ever since man had the ability to melt metal. In modern times, the wax process helps jewelers create a prototype that can then be transformed into the fine jewelry that you know and love today. The wax process ensures that there no errors in the preliminary design. At Uneek Jewelry, this is one of the most important steps in our meticulous manufacturing process. The wax casting allows us to perfect each piece by hand to ensure your purchase is truly flawless!

Our Wax Process

Our wax is printed with the assistance of a CAD (computer-aided design). This guarantees that there are no imperfections in the wax piece. Unlike other jewelers in the industry, our wax models are perfected by hand before they are cast into the final design. This proactive step in our process avoids porosity and allows us to advance straight to hand finishing and cleaning the cast. Instead of adding the finishing touches by hand, other jewelers will practice tumbling, which can be harmful to the piece of jewelry.

Our Zero Tolerance for Porosity

Would you wear a shirt with a hole in the middle of it? How about driving a car with a puncture? Nope! We didn’t think so.

Our hand-perfecting process eliminates the potential for air making its way into the cast and creating holes. Our founder, Benjamin Javaheri, is notorious for disposing of pieces that have even the slightest indicator of porosity.

We also don’t use nickel in our jewelry. This metal is used by wholesale jewelers to mask imperfections before the rhodium plating. This is a temporary fix, so when it’s exposed to heat, nickel deteriorates and creates a cheap finish on jewelry.

We take great pride in ensuring that every Uneek piece is truly one-of-a-kind and crafted to perfection for you to enjoy for generations to come.
