Uneek Radiant-Cut Green Diamond Ring Featured in the Summer 2016 Issue of The Knot
There’s a whole lot of things that we love about The Knot‘s Summer 2016 issue. Beginning on page 202, there’s a colorful feature called “Style by Sign” that talk about getting wedding style inspiration from your zodiac sign, ruling planet, etc.–complete with suggested color palettes, flower combos, etc. And then there’s the lively story on fine china, showing how you can mix and match plates and saucers and bowls with different patterns and graphics, so long as you “let a single hue anchor the designs” to achieve “cohesion.” Then there’s the bridal dress editorial shot at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden (one of our favorite places in the whole world!), which makes you wonder if this was a Spring issue disguised as a Summer issue… And, of course, what is not to love about that gorgeous palette they used on the cover, featuring tones of thistle, lilac, sunglow, and jasmine? In an era where magazines are going for pared-down, minimalist aesthetics, it is very refreshing to see a book embrace the romanticism of colors.
And speaking of the romanticism of colors, can you get any more romantic than a colored diamond engagement ring? Not that a colorless diamond ring is un-romantic, of course–we’re just saying that there’s something about colored diamonds that make you so…weak in the knees! The color gives an extra touch of romance! That’s why Uneek designer Benjamin Javaheri decided to come up with a bridal collection dedicated to colored diamonds: the Natureal Collection. If you haven’t already, visit the Natureal Collection page in our Website, and we guarantee you will become a colored diamond convert! Most of the rings feature yellow diamonds, some feature pink diamonds… But there are a few green diamond rings in there, too, including this one featured in the pages of this latest issue of The Knot! (Makes sense, right? Colorful engagement ring to go with a very colorful book!)
Yes, that is our ring style # LVS917 featured in pages 32 and 156 of the magazine. It’s a story on three-stone engagement rings that The Knot editorial assistant Avery Hutchinson whipped up, and we are so elated to be the only one out of the 9 designers featured to serve up colored diamond goodness! How’s that for “popping out of the page?” That’s a 1.60-carat radiant-cut fancy intense green diamond taking centerstage, and it’s surrounded by a cut-corner halo of white round brilliants before being flanked by trapezoid-cut sidestones (the sidestones have partial halos, as well, making this a hybrid of a three-stone ring and a halo ring)… You can’t fully see it in The Knot photo, but a profile view of this ring will reveal delightful scroll filigree in the gallery (in yellow gold for the portion under the green center); click here to see alternate view photos of this delicious piece (or see below)!
Asked why she things women should consider colored diamnds for an engagement ring, Breanne Demers, vice president of Uneek retail partner Gunderson’s (a family-owned jeweler with three stores in Sioux City, IA; Sioux Falls, SD; and Omaha, NE) and part of the Natural Color Diamond Association‘s Board of Directors, says, “For every 10,000 colorless diamonds, there is one colored diamond in the world. This provides an opportunity for the bride or groom to create a truly rare and unique engagement ring using colored diamonds in the design. If you think about it, how many pink or yellow colored diamond engagements have you ever seen?”
What do you think of green diamonds? Or of colored diamonds in general? Are they something you aspire to have? Would you rather be proposed to with a colored diamond, or a white diamond? Let us know in the comments section below!
A million colorful thanks to The Knot editorial team for another feature! Hopefully in the next issue it’ll be a Uneek pink diamond ring to land on their pages!
