Dress it Up: How to Jump on the Stackable Wedding Band Trend
We know there are more moments in life worth celebrating beyond the engagement and wedding. That’s why we’re loving the stackable wedding band trend — it’s the perfect way to celebrate milestones and your unique personality. Though some women opt for stackable fashion bands to up the shine, you can easily and effortlessly craft your style around your engagement ring and wedding band by layering on the sparkle. Need a little guidance on how to ace the trend? We’ve come up with a quick guide to help you build the perfect stack.
Start with Style
The first thing to consider is your personality and how you want to express it through your style. That’s what stackables are all about. Think about how you do that in your apparel then apply it to your rings. It’s often suggested that you pick a focal point for your stack, and in this case, it’s your engagement ring. However, you can pick a feature of your ring — like the metal type or a gemstone accent — to build your look around as well. This will help you as you select the rest of your ensemble.
Play with Texture
Do you want sleek or something with a little more dimension? If you want to go for a more minimalist, smooth look, you may want to select thin bands that show off more metal. You can also create a delicate yet more developed collection by pairing a ring with a thin band that fits very snugly with it or by selecting one of our stack illusion bands. However, women who want to go for something with a little more dimension should incorporate bands with movement and angles. Have fun with band thickness and a variety of shapes — baguettes or diamond-shaped cluster accents — for sporty yet elegant layers. Add movement with criss-cross shanks or vine-inspired styles.
Find Your Metal (or Metals)
Love rose gold above them all? Build your stack around that color. If you have your heart set on two metals but you’re worried your stack will look incohesive, don’t worry. Mixing metals is actually a rising trend, so go for it! And like we mentioned before, stacking is a way to celebrate your personality and your style. Let it shine in your stack.
Push the limits a little more and create an extra unique look by incorporating a gemstone band to the mix — another trend we’re loving! This also gives you the opportunity to add another layer of meaning to your stack, whether you’re incorporating your birthstone or the symbolism of a ruby or emerald.
Keep It Balanced
No matter how you dress your fingers, though, strive for balance. It’s a good rule of thumb to keep your stack between 3 and 6 rings. You want to be confident in going bold, but you also don’t want the set to be overwhelming. Mix thick and thin bands for a moderate look. You can always take your engagement ring and layer it in between two more delicate accent bands to create a chunky yet harmonious collection. If you have a taller center stone, don’t overdress it though — it could be just perfect with just one or two additions. When you look at your hand, see if you have a uniform — not staggered — height of rings across your fingers. Ready to get started?
